Like most countries in the Pacific Region, KokaNet uses the 900 MHz frequency band. However some countries in Europe use the 1800 MHz band. Most cell phones are dual band and can operate on both the 900 MHz band and the 1800 MHz band, the USA uses the 1900 MHz band, if you are travelling to the USA will need a Tri-band cell phone. Normally the mobile has Network select on Automatic, but sometimes the automatic feature does not work and therefore it is necessary to manually select the network you want to use.
The phone may not search the network if it is in a low signal area, please also know that instructions vary from mobile to mobile, and you should refer to the manual that came with your mobile and follow the instructions for activating a particular service. |
